In short, that how one represents a strategic idea through design will ultimately shape how it is interpreted i.e. design is strategically loaded, not just a mere visual expression.
Anyway, your 'design is the new management consultancy' manifesto. I'm definitely in, just tell me where to sign ...

if you like the jobs quote you may enjoy the MAYA cards, we've been collecting quotes for a few years and hand them to our clients as a deck of cards. Old school I guess. But some real gems in there about the value of design.
We made the deck into an OS X widget too...
