Commissioned by Tower Hamlets Council

Dsc00380

Tom went to have a look at this the other day. Great use of double yellows. (Triple yellows over here.) Apparently it's huge. Look at the parking sign on the lamp post for an idea of scale.

Anyway, he also spotted this.

That can't be right, can it? We don't think it is. What do you think?

I wouldn't have thought it was actually comissioned by them, although that would be pretty ace.

I reckon it's a smug nod from Banksy, to himself about how famous he is and how much it will inevitably add to the price of the property it's on....perhpas.

Methinks it's a comment on Tower Hamlet's policy of removing all graffiti.

That bit wasn't there originally Ben, look at this:

It's irony, Ben.

yeah apparently it was added afterwards. think i read that on the banksy flickr group.

Yeah, saw this one posted a few weeks ago without the Tower Hamlets commission. Could be a Banksy fan or the man himself I guess. If it's him it could be saying TH will be getting lots of fresh art because they have set a zero policy on his work, enticing him to do more.
