Oh, I don't know. Surely for their potential customer base, pretending to go green is just one more reason to feel smug about one's social standing?

question is: how are they going to do it?

Yes, it's complete b*ll*cks. Really this sort of thing should be the nail in the coffin of Chelsea tractors - the Government needs to prevent manufacturers importing them - that would sort out the problem in a more effective way!

I think the general public are quite cynical of this kind of carbon-offsetting thing anyway and see straight through it. To be honest, if they were that bothered about climate change, they wouldn't be at the 4x4 dealership.

The was a great article in TIME about a month ago about these so called green services and how they really do nothing at all but clear consciences.

I suppose if I attempt to look at it another way at least they are attempting SOMETHING green. 5 or 10 years ago this never would have happened. Maybe in 5 or 10 more they'll actually do soemthing worth while!

Makes me think of this:

I'm sure the Chelea set will think it's all absolutely splendid.
